Haircut in Japan

I look at my watch; 6:30... ikeru , I think to myself...cutting my hair  shouldn't  take more than 20 minutes...I’ll be back at my new host’s house by 7, in time for a delicious dinner... Takeuchi  is the name of the barber... Hmm , the same as the last name of my classmate...funny . I enter, greeted by several middle aged men and ladies; a few busy with cutting hair. I sit down on one of the chairs, and a man approaches me. He puts a pink towel around my neck and wraps a large white blanket around my body.  Shitsureishimasu ... My haircut. The chair turns with an electric buzz and the mirror in front of me turns into a sink. The man washes my hair and I’m in cloud nine. His magical hands send sensual waves throughout my neck and body. All too soon the sink disappears and I’m brought down from the clouds. He brings a few magazines and asks me which hairstyle is the best. I ask him to just cut my hair normally;  Futsuuni   kitte   kuremasuk...

JavaScript Fades

Perhaps you may have noticed that, when you hover over the articles, the side note text slides in from the bottom? Yup, that's JavaScript. Should be functional on all pages of my website, including this page, the "Games" page, and the "Pages" page. Please let me know what you think! On a side note, so sorry that I haven't updated the website in such a long time. I've been very busy with other matters.

Left Turns and MoMath

The LED floor puzzle. I went to the Museum of Math the other day. It was a recent addition to the dozens of museums already in existence in NYC, but being a sucker for hands-on museums, I couldn't let this one pass by. While a relatively new museum (opened this December), it still garnered a rather large crowd on Christmas Day. The museum's two floors were packed with mostly parents and their kids. Sometimes it was a bit cramped due to overcrowding and I had to wait for my turn on certain exhibitions numerous times. Overall a pretty negative experience space-wise. Otherwise, it was a pretty decent museum. I'd wait  a bit so they can learn how to deal with large crowds. Many of their attractions were broken when I visited, thus subtracting from the ideal experience. If you're interested, you should definitely stop by, it's worth one visit at least. On a side note, I hope to be blogging more this Winter, so be on the look-out for more posts!

Cross Browser!

Introducing official cross browser support! If my coding is correct, my website should look the same on all modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, and on IE. Please shoot me an email if you find any inconsistencies. In addition to the multi-browser support, I also did a few design changes that I felt were necessary. The favicon, website font, colors scheme, and many layout changes were made. I think that they make the site a lot easier on the eyes. On a side note, some JavaScript changes are still forthcoming!

Blogs and Updates

People have been asking me what the point of this main page was and how it differs from my blog. I've decided to use this page to keep track of the updates on my website while the blog will continue to be my personal journal throughout life. If you haven't visited my blog, I highly encourage you to check it out here . I have a very large range of posts ranging from the incredibly personal, to the theoretical, and all the way to the practical. On a side note, these "side notes" are a tradition carried over from my blog.
